My name is Mrs Hughes and I am Pensby Primary School’s Mental Health Lead. At Pensby Primary School, we are committed to supporting the emotional health and well being of all our children and staff. My role is to support the ongoing development of a whole school approach in supporting mental well being. I work closely with staff and families to recognise the signs and symptoms of any mental health needs in pupils and provide appropriate support. During the school day I meet up with children to chat, listen and give support and encouragement to help them manage and improve their mental health and emotional well being through resources and activities. I work with the class teachers so we can provide the best possible support for the children. We have great links with our local CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services) team. They are regular visitors in our school and give great support to our school community. We have hosted workshops for parents run by CAMHS counsellors which proved helpful and they are running Mind and Mood sessions weekly with the children. |
