Our school Catering Manager is Mrs S Humphries. Mrs Brindley, Mrs Dawson, Mrs G Groves and Mrs Putman and Ms McCall are the assistant cooks. All school meals are prepared on the premises in the schools state of the art kitchen and are served to the children in Pensby and Stnaley Schools. School lunches currently cost £2.20 per day.
Classes take it in turns to eat in the main dining room, so that there are not too many children and the atmosphere is calm and enjoyable. At other times the children will eat lunch in their classroom. A special lunch is held on a Friday where the children receive table service and a cup of tea in a china cup!
Every class has it’s own Midday Assistant and this means that the children have a familiar member of staff who looks after them at lunchtime.
The school kitchen is ‘in-house’. This means it is not controlled by an outside catering company and there is more flexibility for meals to be changed to what the children like and request. We work with a company called RPJ3 who help us to ensure all meals meet and surpass government expectations and standards.
Our new menus have been designed, based on the results of a survey carried out by the School council. It is extensive and everything is freshly made on the premises. The menu can be viewed here:
